Initially, environmental concern was confused with the fight in defense of our forests. The Environment is a question of the preservation of all living species on Planet Earth. Neglecting them is to condemn future generations to a more sacrificed life, or in the worst of hypotheses, extinction.

With the realization of the United Nations Conference for the Environment and Development- Eco-92, carried out in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 1992, the strength of Non-profit organizations (ONG’s) was revealed, giving the meeting huge repercussions. This also added to the international discussion the question of sustainable development and the appearance of Article 21, which refers to concerns for our future, now and the 21st Century. This document was signed by 179 countries, including Brazil, host of the conference and the Local Article 21 (adopted as our premise).

We understand that necessary environmental actions have to possess a local and community development strategy. We believe that violations first occur in the city, as well as the initial environmental restoration measures.

In this manner, we are dedicated to the implementation and support of Article 21 Local in all phases, always stimulating community participation, because it is impossible to discuss action programs designed to facilitate the adoption of sustainable development and environmental consciousness within cities without the existence of constant and conscientious bonds between Government X Communities X Local Leaders.
